Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamza Showaikh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showaikh shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jenkins pinned against the cage. Jenkins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jenkins tries to bum rush Showaikh with a series of wild strikes but Showaikh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jenkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A left and a right from Jenkins both land. Nice combination.
Showaikh goes for a double leg but Jenkins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jenkins continues to drive forward.
Showaikh gets the takedown into side control.
Jenkins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jenkins duly obliges.
Showaikh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jenkins napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Showaikh creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jenkins is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Showaikh looks up at the clock and then as Jenkins takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Showaikh smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jenkins is still in real trouble! Can Showaikh finish him?

Showaikh cracks Jenkins with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Showaikh immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Jenkins is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Showaikh!
