Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Link Gaetz (ranked 412 p4p, 53 weight class) and Gorgon Zola (ranked 374 p4p, 49 weight class). Zola has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Link Gaetz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Link Gaetz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zola misses with a kick to the body
and Gaetz counters with a straight right hand.
Gaetz takes a swing at Zola's ribcage but misses.
Gaetz lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jab, jab by Zola - just one landing.
Gaetz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gaetz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Zola connects with a right hand. Gaetz shakes it off.
Gaetz throws a right hand that misses
and Zola counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gaetz's knee momentarily.
Zola lands a nice looking body shot.
Zola throws a sloppy head kick and Gaetz moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been informed that Zola has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Zola checks the leg kick nicely there.
Zola looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gaetz cracks a nice hook into Zola's ribs.
Zola swings for the body but Gaetz moves out of range.

Gaetz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gaetz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Gaetz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

It looks like Gorgon Zola has been cut.
Zola takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gaetz throws a front kick that sends Zola stumbling back into the cage.
Zola misses with a low kick.

and Gaetz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zola swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gaetz scores with a counter punch that sends Zola to the canvas! Gaetz smells blood - he's punishing Zola with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Zola has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
