Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mario Zambrana (ranked 2718 p4p, 318 weight class) and Ravi Shankoli (ranked 1680 p4p, 223 weight class). Zambrana comes to the ring accompanied by Impact is Imminent. Shankoli has chosen Ravi Shankar - Om Shiva as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zambrana goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A telegraphed right hand from Zambrana misses the target.
Zambrana tries to clinch up.
Zambrana steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shankoli.

Zambrana appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Zambrana lands a front kick to the face, that drops Shankoli to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zambrana lands a head kick that bluckles Shankoli and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Zambrana no doubt looking to push for a finish!
Shankoli is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zambrana doesn't manage to clinch there - Shankoli circles away.
Zambrana takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Zambrana throws out a head kick that Shankoli doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Shankoli crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Shankoli's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Shankoli is still on wobbly legs! Can Zambrana finish him?
It looks like Ravi Shankoli has been cut.
Shankoli swings for the body but Zambrana moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Shankoli connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Zambrana uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shankoli has time to react.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Zambrana takes that one as he scored multiple knockdowns. Ravi Shankoli was lucky to get out of the first round.

Zambrana throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Shankoli blocks it with crossed arms.

Zambrana throws a sloppy head kick and Shankoli moves out of range easily.

and Zambrana counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Zambrana takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Shankoli throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A jab lands there for Zambrana.
Shankoli throws a leg kick but Zambrana sees it coming and moves out of range.
Shankoli is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shankoli takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Shankoli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zambrana moves away.
Zambrana blocks a low kick nicely.
Zambrana tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zambrana lands a leg kick that knocks Shankoli off balance momentarily.

Our sources have told us that Zambrana has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Zambrana has Shankoli pressed against the ropes, preventing Shankoli from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Shankoli loads up on a big right hand but Zambrana slips the punch.

Shankoli stalks Zambrana and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Zambrana's face. Zambrana staggers backwards, shaken.

Zambrana cracks Shankoli with a right hand to the side of the head.

Mario Zambrana took his opportunity to call for a title shot in his post fight interview.
Ravi Shankoli was interviewed post fight and said 'I believe he forgotten shower for a week or something, I gagged on my own vomit and never could get it back together again. Take a shower you filthy bastard!'.
