Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Andreev (ranked 117 p4p, 16 weight class) and Kamerun Diaz (ranked 136 p4p, 19 weight class). Diaz has chosen Beast in Black - Ghost in the Rain as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Andreev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kamerun Diaz!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andreev fails to land with a series of punches.

Diaz tries to sprawl but Andreev drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Diaz tries to get to full guard but Andreev has control of the leg.

Diaz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Andreev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Andreev connects with a nice short shot to Diaz's temple.
Diaz has hold of Andreev's hands but Andreev slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Andreev is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Andreev is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Andreev with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Andreev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Andreev ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away.
Andreev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Diaz looks to throw the jab but Andreev is out of range.
Andreev scores with a decent looking hook.

Nice defenses there by Diaz.
Andreev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Andreev misses the target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diaz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Andreev has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Andreev and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A quick step to the side and Andreev tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Andreev is out of range.
Andreev fails to land with a series of punches.
Andreev cracks Diaz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Diaz tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Andreev is able to avoid easily.
Andreev appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Diaz throws a low kick, looking for Andreev's leg but Andreev calmly moves out of range.
Andreev is looking to counter punch.
Andreev throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Andreev misses with an uppercut. Diaz saw that one coming.
Andreev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around?
Diaz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Diaz looks to land a body kick but Andreev moved away.
Andreev takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Diaz throws out a loose jab but Andreev uses good head movement to avoid it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Andreev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Andreev's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing good reports from Andreev's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
