Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Page! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jules Winnfield! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Page misses with a double jab.
Page throws a head kick that misses. A nice leg kick lands there from Page. Winnfield bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Page is trying to escape the position but Winnfield is controlling the position. Winnfield trying to control the position but Page is working away. Winnfield thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Page tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Winnfield wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Page is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Winnfield is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Page has escaped the position, nice work there. Winnfield throws an elbow but Page slips to the side and avoids it well. Winnfield working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Winnfield controlling the position from side mount. Winnfield is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Page is trying to improve his position. Winnfield wants to lay and pray for a moment but Page keeps working.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jab, jab by Page - just one landing. Page throws a right hand that Winnfield ducks under and follows up with a left that Winnfield also avoids with ease. Winnfield avoids the body shot from Page.
Danny Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winnfield tries to clinch up but Page circles away and keeps his distance. Winnfield takes a jab right on the kisser.
Page is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Winnfield. Winnfield looks to throw the jab but Page is out of range. Page blocks a jab. Page feinted there with a counter leg kick. Winnfield throws a looping overhand right but Page ducks down to avoid it. Winnfield is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Page. Page is looking to counter the offense by Winnfield and move into the clinch. Page lands an overhand right. Winnfield throws a hook to the side of Page's head but Page sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Page looks to throw the jab but Winnfield is out of range. Winnfield moves in looking to clinch but Page pushes him off. A little feinted left hand from Page on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Page misses with a straight right. The fight stays on the outside here - Winnfield looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A combination from Page does no damage. Jab by Page. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Page gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Winnfield to score an easy takedown into full guard. Winnfield controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Danny Page will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Page throws out a loose jab but Winnfield uses good head movement to avoid it. Danny Page is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Winnfield wants to clinch. Winnfield cracks Page with a good jab. Page takes a swing at Winnfield's ribcage but misses. Winnfield takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Page throws a quick inside leg kick. Page stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Page wants it to stay on the feet. Page looks to throw the jab but Winnfield is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Winnfield tries to clinch there but Page circles away.
Winnfield shoots for a takedown but Page saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Winnfield shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Page manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Winnfield showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Page might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Winnfield scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Winnfield thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Winnfield wants to control from the top but Page keeps moving. Page is trying to keep Winnfield in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Winnfield working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Page's head. Winnfield missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Page tries to strike from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Winnfield slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Winnfield closes the distance looking to clinch and Page counters with a stiff right hand. Danny Page is winning the standup battle so far. Winnfield misses with an uppercut. Winnfield drops his hands momentarily and Page takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Winnfield slips a jab and a cross from Page.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Page misses with the ground and pound. Page working away. Page is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Winnfield can do to turn this around? Sloppy strikes there by Page. Winnfield gets back to half guard. Page sitting and controlling from the half guard. Winnfield is not content to let Page control the position. Winnfield preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Page thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Winnfield's head. Winnfield wants to control but Page is keeping busy.
Page scoring with strikes to the body and head. Page thows a huge punch but Winnfield dodges it nicely.
Winnfield tries to get to full guard but Page has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Page thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Page is pressing down on Winnfield's thigh, looking to free his foot. Winnfield is holding on for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Page dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
A looping hook to the body misses from Winnfield. Page does a little dance to reset his feet. A punch combination from Page misses. Page swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Winnfield moves into range and clinches up with Page. Winnfield is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Page pulls him back up using the underhooks. Winnfield jumps guard but Page stands there with Winnfield around his waist. Winnfield gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Page wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Page has had enough of the clinch but Winnfield keeps him there for the moment. Winnfield is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Page gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Danny Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jules Winnfield. Winnfield breaks the clinch.

Winnfield fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Page checks it well. A head kick by Page misses and Page takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Winnfield takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Winnfield moves in looking to clinch but Page pushes him off. Winnfield uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Page.
That's one minute gone in the round. Page rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Winnfield moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Winnfield looks for a takedown but Page sprawls well. Winnfield looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Page throws a shot from downtown. Winnfield moves away and avoids it. Page scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Winnfield shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Page is trying to defend but Winnfield finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Winnfield connects with a nice short shot to Page's temple. Page trying to get back to full guard but Winnfield takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Page is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Winnfield can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Page is looking to escape. Winnfield manages to capitalize on a mistake by Page to take his back! Page tries to break free.

Winnfield looking to break Page's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Page remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Winnfield will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Winnfield thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Winnfield has Page flattened out and is raining down punches. Winnfield controlling the position well here. Page rolled but Winnfield kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Jules Winnfield has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Well, with Winnfield on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Page is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Winnfield lands a shot to the body. Winnfield working for the choke. Page trying to control the position but Winnfield manages to sink in the hooks.
