The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virtudazo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Virtudazo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
so Virtudazo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Virtudazo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackson dives on top into guard.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Virtudazo is keeping the position.
Virtudazo is looking to stand up but Jackson isn't so interested in that idea.
Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Virtudazo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jackson is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at UnderGround Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Virtudazo manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

We've been informed that Virtudazo has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
