Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Over Power (ranked 2309 p4p, 280 weight class) and Patrick Bower (ranked 3585 p4p, 379 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Over Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patrick Bower!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bower misses with a wild body shot.
Bower loads up on a big right hand but Power slips the punch.
Bower misses with a wild body shot.
Power jabs Bower right on the nose. Bower blinks but takes it well.
Power takes a swing at Bower's ribcage but misses.
Bower lands a body shot.
Bower's coach down at Blanc Fitness Academy - 170$/week was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bower's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Power throws a right and a left that Bower avoids nicely.
Power misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bower moves out of range of the strikes.
Bower shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Bower just misses with a punch to the body.
It looked like Power was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bower.

Bower throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Power on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Power loads up on a big right hand but Bower slips the punch.
Bower throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Power stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bower looks to score with a jab to the body but Power is just out of range.

Bower throws a body shot but no joy.
Power tries to bum rush Bower with a series of wild strikes but Bower uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bower swings for the body but Power moves out of range.
Bower is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Power rather than just go for the knockout.
Power moves away from the strike by Bower.
Bower lands with a kick to the temple. Power shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Over Power has been cut.

Bower looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Power throws a right hand that Bower ducks under and follows up with a left that Bower also avoids with ease.
Bower throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slow jab from Bower misses its intended target.
Bower ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Power moves away.
A head kick misses from Bower.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bower appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Bower thuds his right hand into Power's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Bower has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bower with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Power to score with a decent uppercut.

Bower cracks Power with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Power definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Patrick Bower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Power. Bower does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bower lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Bower misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Power.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Power counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bower connects with an inside leg kick.
Power lands a really nice looking cross but Bower seems unphased.
Bower throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Power counters with a straight right hand.
Bower jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bower comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Power with a body punch. A glancing blow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Patrick Bower will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Patrick Bower is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Bower swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bower throws a jab but it's blocked by Power.
Bower bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Power's head backwards.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Over Power.
Well Bower has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Over Power decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
