Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Issac Simon (ranked 6981 p4p, 0 weight class) and CP Schlatter (ranked 5133 p4p, 355 weight class). Issac Simon is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Issac Simon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CP Schlatter! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schlatter to score an easy takedown into full guard. Schlatter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Simon controls Schlatter momentarily but Schlatter frees himself. Schlatter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Schlatter works a leg free and moves into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schlatter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Simon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schlatter trying to control the action but Simon is working from the bottom. Schlatter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Schlatter slips a nice elbow through Simon's hands, connecting with Simon's forehead. Schlatter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Schlatter wants to take a breather but Simon is having none of it. Schlatter slows the pace down in half guard. Simon is concentrating on defense, preventing Schlatter from advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schlatter slows the pace down in half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Simon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Simon shoots in looking for a takedown but Schlatter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Simon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Schlatter throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. CP Schlatter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schlatter rushes Simon and presses him up against the cage. Simon tries to break the clinch but Schlatter is controlling the position. A short right from Schlatter on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schlatter gets control of Simon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Schlatter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schlatter is on top in guard.

Simon is keeping the position for now. Schlatter wants to control from the top but Simon keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schlatter is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Simon looking to control.

Simon fails to land the takedown. A head kick misses from Schlatter. It looked like Simon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Schlatter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Simon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Simon. Schlatter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schlatter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schlatter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Simon.
Simon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simon tries to keep at a distance but Schlatter has taken the fight into the clinch. Schlatter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Schlatter wants to take the fight to the mat but Simon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Schlatter shoots in and bounces Simon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schlatter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Simon's guard. Schlatter wants to control from the top but Simon keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Simon has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Simon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schlatter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Schlatter forces his way into half guard. Schlatter is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schlatter slows the pace down in half guard. Simon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Schlatter has closed the distance and engaged Simon in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Simon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Schlatter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Simon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Schlatter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simon, pushing him back against the cage. Schlatter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Simon wants the takedown. Schlatter is fighting it off but Simon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Schlatter's guard against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Simon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Schlatter's guard. Schlatter lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

CP Schlatter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Simon is nestled in close to Schlatter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Schlatter can do anything to dispel that myth. Schlatter tries to kick Simon off but Simon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Simon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Simon connects with a nice short shot to Schlatter's temple. That's two minutes gone in the round. Schlatter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simon is one step ahead there. Simon distracts Schlatter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Simon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Schlatter is pulling down on Simon's head to control his posture. Simon postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Schlatter checks a leg kick. Schlatter is looking for the big counter here. Schlatter closes the distance and clinches. Simon is pressed up against the cage. Schlatter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Simon down to the mat. Simon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Schlatter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schlatter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simon circles away. Simon looks for a takedown but Schlatter sprawls well. Schlatter lands with a nice combination. Simon backs away looking to recover. Schlatter fails with a takedown attempt. Issac Simon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CP Schlatter. Nice takedown defense from Schlatter. No joy for Simon on that attempt. Schlatter fails miserably with a takedown attempt. CP Schlatter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schlatter with a poor takedown and Simon counters with a straight right hand. Simon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Schlatter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Simon. Schlatter darts in looking for a takedown but Simon gets double underhooks and turns Schlatter into the cage. Simon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schlatter to the mat! Schlatter manages to get full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schlatter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Simon preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schlatter is working an open guard so Simon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Issac Simon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! CP Schlatter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Simon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Schlatter lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
And that's the end of the fight! Issac Simon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Schlatter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
