13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Sins! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sins throws a big shot that misses. Sins throws a lazy right hand but Kuznetsov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A low kick from Sins misses and Kuznetsov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sins looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kuznetsov throws a right and a left that both miss. Kuznetsov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sins. Kuznetsov thows a left - swing and a miss! Sins lands a glancing blow to the side of Kuznetsov's head. Kuznetsov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kuznetsov throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Sins stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Kuznetsov follows into mount!
Sins is rocked!
It looks like Nick Sins has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sins is working to get back to half guard.
Sins is still in real trouble! Can Kuznetsov finish him? Sins regains half guard. Sins holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Sins seems to have recovered his senses. Sins is looking for a sweep. Kuznetsov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sins holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Sins tries to roll over but Kuznetsov keeps him under control. Sins keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Kuznetsov tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Sins looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sins trying to control but Kuznetsov postures up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nick Sins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Sins misses the target. Sins motions for Kuznetsov to come forward. Sins throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Sins throws a hook but Kuznetsov blocks it. Kuznetsov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kuznetsov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sins manages to avoid it. Kuznetsov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sins. Kuznetsov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Sins throws a head kick but Kuznetsov moves out of range.
Kuznetsov throws a leg kick which misses Sins's front leg but catches the back leg as Sins tries to avoid it. Kuznetsov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sins scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Sins misses with a hook
and Kuznetsov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kuznetsov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sins moves away. Sins looks to land a left hand but Kuznetsov moved out of range nicely. Sins moves forwards but Kuznetsov connects with a nice, crisp jab. A combination from Kuznetsov does no damage. Sins scores with the left hand. Kuznetsov knows he should have avoided that one. Kuznetsov on the wrong end of a nice hook. Kuznetsov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sins throws out the jab. Sins throws a series of punches but Kuznetsov moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Kuznetsov. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kuznetsov blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kuznetsov manages to break the clinch.
Kuznetsov feints and then cracks Sins's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sins down. Kuznetsov takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sins misses with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kuznetsov getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sins connects with a right hand. Kuznetsov shakes it off. Nice defenses there by Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sins.
Kuznetsov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nice uppercut lands for Sins. That snapped Kuznetsov's head back.
Kuznetsov throws a sloppy head kick and Sins moves out of range easily. Kuznetsov lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kuznetsov. Sins dips to his left and cracks Kuznetsov with an uppercut! Sins swings for the body but Kuznetsov moves out of range.
Sins throws a right hand that misses
and Kuznetsov counters with a stiff right hand. Sins throws a big shot that misses. Sins connects with an inside leg kick. Sins defending well as Kuznetsov loads up on a big left hand. Kuznetsov throws a hook but Sins blocks it. Sins looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Kuznetsov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sins in his tracks. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice jab there from Sins. Sins thows a left - swing and a miss! Kuznetsov swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nikolai Kuznetsov dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick Sins's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A big left from Sins misses. Kuznetsov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A swing and a miss from Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov on the wrong end of a nice hook. Kuznetsov bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Sins! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Sins looking to control.
Sins looking for a sweep. Not yet Sins, not yet. Kuznetsov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kuznetsov misses with a series of wild punches.
Sins cracks Kuznetsov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Sins throws a hook to the side of Kuznetsov's head but Kuznetsov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sins lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuznetsov throws a head kick but Sins moves out of range.
Sins throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Kuznetsov to counter with a crisp jab. Kuznetsov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sins. Sins misses with a wild body shot. Sins fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kuznetsov. Sins jabs Kuznetsov right on the nose. Kuznetsov blinks but takes it well. Kuznetsov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sins was well out of range. Poor timing from Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov ducks under a wild hook from Sins. Kuznetsov is looking for a counter combo. Sins misses with a right hand and Kuznetsov counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Sins off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Kuznetsov follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Sins was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nikolai Kuznetsov! After the fight, Nikolai Kuznetsov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
