Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fabian Armstrong (ranked 24680 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romain Gastineau (ranked 7162 p4p, 0 weight class). Gastineau has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong moves out of range as Gastineau throws a body kick.
Gastineau closes the distance and clinches.
Armstrong breaks from the clinch.
Gastineau throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Armstrong to counter with a crisp jab.
Gastineau shoots in and gets a takedown into Armstrong's guard.

Armstrong is wriggling around but Gastineau manages to pass to half guard.
Gastineau prevents Armstrong from improving his position.
Armstrong makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Armstrong.
Armstrong is pulling down on Gastineau's head to control his posture.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Armstrong is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Armstrong lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Armstrong gets to his feet - Gastineau follows without any prompting.

Gastineau has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Armstrong regains guard immediately.
Armstrong thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Armstrong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gastineau's guard.

Armstrong makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Armstrong wants to stand but Gastineau has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Armstrong stands up and waves to Gastineau to follow him.
Gastineau gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Armstrong to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Armstrong wants to get up but he can't break Gastineau's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gastineau had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Armstrong defends it easily.

Armstrong is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Armstrong went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Armstrong pulls guard effortlessly.
Gastineau is sitting in close to Armstrong's body. Armstrong has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gastineau is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gastineau is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Armstrong.
