Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norberto Kelley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Purcell!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelley on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Purcell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kelley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Purcell is working away from the top position though.
Kelley wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelley manages to get to full guard.
Purcell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Purcell is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Purcell postures up in Kelley's guard and throws a big left but Kelley blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Purcell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Purcell pushes down on Kelley's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Purcell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kelley sees it coming and defends easily.
Kelley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Purcell is working away from the top position though.
Kelley tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Purcell manages to move to mount!
Kelley takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purcell controlling his opponent.
Kelley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Purcell controlling from mount.
Kelley is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Purcell tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Purcell connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kelley is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Purcell get's back to his feet.

Purcell pushes Kelley up against the cage in a clinch.
Kelley has Purcell pressed against the cage.
Purcell using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Come on Purcell - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Purcell has hold of one of Kelley's legs. Kelley is fighting the takedown attempt but Purcell gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Purcell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kelley working a defensive guard here.
Kelley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kelley is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Purcell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Purcell scoring with some ground and pound.
Purcell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Purcell gets to his feet. Kelley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Purcell gets a clinch.

Kelley breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Purcell dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kelley tries to sprawl but Purcell drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kelley is trying to get back to full guard.
Purcell stalling.
Kelley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Purcell is working away from the top position though.

Purcell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Purcell keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Kelley is trying to get back to full guard.
Purcell drops an elbow to the side of Kelley's head.

Purcell is working for a kimura here but Kelley manages to reverse the position and he's now in Purcell's guard.

Purcell has his feet on Kelley's thighs here. He's pushed Kelley off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Kelley screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
