The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira scores with a nice strike.
Pereira lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mourani will feel that in the morning.
Mourani swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mourani looks to score with a jab to the body but Pereira is just out of range.
Pereira seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Mourani throws a jab but it's blocked by Pereira.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Pereira enables Mourani to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pereira manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pereira wants to stand up but Mourani is controlling him.

Pereira fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mourani.

Pereira throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Samir Mourani has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pereira lands a head kick. Mourani smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Mourani is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Pereira rather than just go for the knockout.

Mourani tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pereira sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mourani somewhat.

It looked like Pereira wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Mourani throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pereira counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mourani is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Michel Pereira was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
