Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Drels Theran (ranked 4871 p4p, 231 weight class) and John Lee (ranked 5808 p4p, 0 weight class). John Lee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drels Theran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lee! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Good shot there by Theran. Lee instigates a clinch. Lee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lee manages to end up in side control. Lee in side control, throwing shots but Theran defends. Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lee lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Lee working the body and head with strikes. Theran can't do much from the bottom here. Theran is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Theran is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Lee trying to control the position but Theran is working away. Theran managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee scoring with punches from side control. Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Theran keeps working. Theran tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it. Lee throwing shots but missing, from side control. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lee working his ground and pound in the gym. Lee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Theran knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lee trying to control the position but Theran is working away. Theran wants to control but Lee postures up. Theran taking a bit of punishment here - Lee scoring with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee looks up at the clock and then as Theran takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lee smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Theran keeps working. Theran on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lee scores with punches from side control. Lee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Theran is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lee landing a few strikes. Lee working the ground and pound from side control.
Theran is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Theran to see if he's OK. Oh Theran is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lee scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Theran is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Lee can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
