Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Altair Brain (ranked 2067 p4p, 234 weight class) and Koko Pinea (ranked 1682 p4p, 110 weight class). Brain's entrance music is 300 Violin. A fine choice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Altair Brain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Koko Pinea! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brain checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Brain bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Brain throws a lazy head kick letting Pinea counter with a right hand. Pinea throws a sloppy head kick and Brain moves out of range easily. Brain stuffs the takedown attempt from Pinea. Pinea gets slowly back to his feet. Pinea tries to clinch there but Brain circles away.
Brain misses with a double jab.
Pinea's corner calls for a 1-2. Pinea obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Pinea shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Brain napping and manages to drive through into side control! Brain throws Pinea to one side and escapes! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Pinea uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brain. Brain on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pinea. Pinea obviously looking to wear him down.
Pinea connects with a crisp jab. Brain shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Brain throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Pinea's corner calls for a 1-2. Pinea obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Pinea looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Brain throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brain is looking to clinch. Brain takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pinea shoots in looking for a takedown but Brain manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pinea's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pinea crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Brain - the referee stops the clock and Pinea gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Brain. Pinea manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nice shot by Brain. A clash of legs there as Pinea blocks the low kick. Brain with a nice cross. Brain throws a big shot that misses. Pinea throws a jab but it's blocked by Brain. The fighters circle momentarily. Brain darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pinea shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Altair Brain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koko Pinea. Pinea cracks Brain with a right hand to the side of the head. Pinea throws a looping overhand right but Brain ducks down to avoid it. Altair Brain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brain bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pinea's head backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pinea closes the distance and pushes Brain back into the cage. Brain lands a left hand.

Brain is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Pinea throws a head punch that misses. A big right from Pinea misses. Pinea throws out a powerful jab. Pinea looks for a takedown but Brain sprawls well. Pinea takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Pinea wants to clinch but Brain slips to the side and Brain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Brain misses with a two punch combination.
Good standup being displayed there by Pinea as he connects with a hook. Brain connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A swing and a miss from Pinea. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pinea lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pinea with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brain to score with a decent uppercut. Pinea showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brain.

It looks like Koko Pinea has been cut. Brain lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Brain is pushing Pinea up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Altair Brain has scored more points in the clinch so far. Brain managing to block the knees to the body from Pinea.

That was a close second round but I would say that Altair Brain will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Koko Pinea's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pinea throws out a loose jab but Brain uses good head movement to avoid it. Pinea tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brain walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pinea takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pinea connects with a nice short shot to Brain's temple. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brain misses with a double jab.

Pinea had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Pinea throws a good cross that connects.

No, Brain has managed to get both his arms back between Pinea's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pinea is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Brain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pinea is adopting a defensive guard.

Brain trying to control the position from guard on top but Pinea is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pinea looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Brain enables Pinea to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Brain is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Pinea presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Pinea misses with the head strike.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pinea throwing strikes but missing. Pinea looking to pass the guard.

Koko Pinea has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brain is working Pinea over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Brain looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Altair Brain is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pinea swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Brain thows a left - swing and a miss! Pinea fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Brain forces Pinea back against the cage and clinches. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Pinea swings wildly with an uppercut but Brain uses good head movement to avoid it. Brain is trying to break the clinch but Pinea is controlling him. Pinea working aggressively here.
And that's the end of the fight! Altair Brain showed his dominance in that final round. I think Brain has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
