Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Reny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 3, fighting out of New York, Tatak Marines!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marines tries to keep at a distance but Reny has taken the fight into the clinch.

Reny manages to break the clinch.

Reny closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Reny is struggling to control the position.
Marines is trying to drag Reny to the mat but Reny just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Marines is defending well against a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reny has picked Marines up - he's going for a ride! Reny dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Reny wants to stand up but Marines is controlling the position.

Reny thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Marines's head.
Marines wants to get back to his feet.
Marines trying to control from the bottom.
Reny takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Marines wants to control but Reny is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Marines is trying to stand back up but Reny is controlling him
Reny is controlling the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Reny instigates a clinch.
Reny is trying to drag Marines to the mat but Marines just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Reny has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Marines is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Reny. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reny tries to pull guard but Marines forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The referee calls for Reny to work.

Reny lands a shoulder strike.
Marines tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Reny manages to break the clinch.

Reny closes the distance and clinches.
Marines struggles to land a body shot inside as Reny controls his hands.
Reny goes for a takedown attempt but Marines pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A left and a right from Reny both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Tatak Marines has been cut.

Reny drives through and clinches with Marines against the cage.
Reny fails to pull guard.

Reny manages to break the clinch.
Marines walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A head kick misses from Reny.
Marines tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reny swivels and escapes.
Marines has a takedown stuffed.
Reny is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reny lands a leg kick that knocks Marines off balance momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reny unloads a knee to the mid-section. Marines lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Reny wants to break free but Marines has control.
Reny blocks a body shot from Marines.
Reny tries to pull guard but Marines forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Marines goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Reny escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marines! But no joy.
Reny lands a nice leg kick that just misses Marines's sensitive parts.

Reny wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marines has him pressed against the cage.

Reny tries for a takedown. No joy.

Reny wants to take the fight to the mat but Marines manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Marines keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Reny's efforts to push away.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Nice elbow from Reny.
Reny wants to break free but Marines has control.
Reny stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Reny unloads a knee to the mid-section. Marines lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Reny is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Marines is defending well for now.

The fight stays on the outside here - Reny looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reny tries to clinch up but Marines circles away and keeps his distance.
A countering left hand to the body from Marines misses.
Marines shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Marines changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reny looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Reny is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marines can do to turn this around?

Marines gets to his feet - Reny follows without any prompting.
Reny misses with a series of wild punches.
Marines shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reny as he avoids it easily.
Reny doesn't manage to clinch there - Marines circles away.
Marines doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Marines takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Reny throws a combination that misses
and Marines counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Marines drives through with a takedown into Reny's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Marines is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Marines postures up.
Reny wants to control the position but Marines says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marines decides to stand up.
Nick Reny is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reny tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marines swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reny throws a left and a right that both miss
and Marines counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Reny tries to clinch but Marines moves away
and Marines counters with a straight right hand.
A nice leg kick lands there from Reny.

Marines looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Marines would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Reny is looking for a triangle here but Marines uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Marines trying to control the position but Reny is working away.
Marines working away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tatak Marines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nick Reny is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Marines is chipping away with strikes.

I would just about give that final round to Tatak Marines.
I think Reny has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
