Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Kong (ranked 6847 p4p, 439 weight class) and Dean Moxley (ranked 6952 p4p, 442 weight class). Moxley has chosen Highway to Hell as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dean Moxley! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moxley misses with a few strikes there.
Moxley is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kong's half guard. Moxley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kong keeps working. Kong looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kong tries to roll over but Moxley keeps him under control. Moxley seems to be looking for submissions.
Moxley seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Moxley is keen to just control but Kong is a slippery customer. Kong is trying to control but Moxley passes into side control!
Moxley stands up and beckons Kong to his feet. Moxley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kong is looking to reverse the position. Kong manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kong lands a nice short elbow. Kong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moxley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Moxley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kong scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kong slips a nice elbow through Moxley's hands, connecting with Moxley's forehead. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kong lands a nice short elbow. Moxley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kong's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kong's back! Kong covering up well under a barage of strikes. Moxley throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. This has been an exciting period of action! Moxley connects with a big shot to the side of Kong's head.

Moxley gets his hands free as Kong looks to control. Moxley lands an elbow to the side of the head. Kong wants to control his opponent's hands but Moxley gets his hands free. Moxley keeps control of the position as Kong tries to break free.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Moxley avoiding Kong 's attempts to control his hands. Kong looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Moxley doesn't have the hooks in and Kong manages to turn into his guard.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Moxley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kong is looking to regain full guard. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moxley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Moxley is breathing heavily. Moxley postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kong wants to control but Moxley postures up. Kong on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kong tries to get out of the position. Kong tries to bench press Moxley off him but Moxley keeps the position. Kong is trying to work for a sweep but Moxley has mounted him!

Kong is bucking up trying to escape but Moxley cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kong tries to lock up and control but Moxley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Moxley lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kong hang on? BOOM! Moxley connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kong slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Kong is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Moxley pulls his head out easily. Moxley throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moxley is working away from the top position though. Moxley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
