PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Snowdon (ranked 225 p4p, 31 weight class) and Shane MacGowan (ranked 260 p4p, 38 weight class). MacGowan has chosen The Pogues - Streams of Whiskey as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane MacGowan!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacGowan moves out of range of the body kick.
Snowdon throws a good cross that connects.
Snowdon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as MacGowan throws out the jab.

and MacGowan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Snowdon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
MacGowan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

MacGowan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
MacGowan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MacGowan throws a hook to the side of Snowdon's head but Snowdon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and MacGowan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Snowdon gets caught flat footed, as MacGowan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Snowdon has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That was a close round but I would say that William Snowdon will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Snowdon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MacGowan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snowdon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
