Winston comes to the cage accompanied by The Lost Boy. Darren has chosen Here's to the losers as his entrance music. James Darren has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Darren!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darren plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Harry Winston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Darren's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Winston connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Darren scrambles back to his feet.

Winston shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darren pinned against the cage. Darren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Winston counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Darren tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Darren told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

I was talking to Winston's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Winston is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darren.

Oh Winston is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Darren moves into the clinch successfully.
Darren pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Winston makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Winston seems to have got his legs back now.

Winston wants to stall.
Winston wants to break the clinch but can't.

Winston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Darren is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Winston misses with a straight right.
Jab, jab by Winston - just one landing.
Winston moves out of range of the strikes.
Darren has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Winston gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Darren counters with a nice uppercut.

and Darren scores with a counter punch that sends Winston to the canvas! Darren smells blood - he's punishing Winston with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Winston has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Darren!
