The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza moves into range and clinches up with Mikli.
Souza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Souza breaks the clinch.
Mikli lunges at Souza with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Souza's hand.
Mikli connects with a looping right hand.
Mikli scores with a hook to the body. Souza takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Mikli counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Mikli connects with a good right hand that stumbles Souza. Souza circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Paulo Souza has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Souza 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Souza needs to keep his hands up - Mikli had a free shot at his head there.
Mikli could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mikli lands a really nice looking cross but Souza seems unphased.

Mikli cracks Souza with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Mikli scores with a sloppy right hand. Souza should have avoided that one.

Mikli shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Souza eats them both and turns towards Mikli to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The crowd cheers as Mikli lands an impressive looking overhand right. Souza doesn't seem phased though.
Souza is still on wobbly legs! Can Mikli finish him?
Souza takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Souza takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mikli jabs Souza right on the nose. Souza blinks but takes it well.
Hardrefil Mikli is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mikli comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Mikli lands a big right hand that sends Souza crashing to the mat! Mikli stays standing though and waves Souza back to his feet!
Mikli drops Souza with a big left hand! Souza is injured, injured bad! Mikli jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
