Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Murat Gagiev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Immamali Osman Durnagoz! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Gagiev misses its intended target. Durnagoz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Durnagoz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Gagiev counter with a right hand. Durnagoz tries to clinch up and Gagiev counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Durnagoz thinking. Gagiev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gagiev displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Immamali Osman Durnagoz has been cut. Good exchange - Gagiev coming out on top. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Durnagoz with a poor takedown and Gagiev counters with a stiff right hand. Durnagoz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Gagiev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gagiev scores with a decent looking hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gagiev lands with an overhand left. Gagiev scores with a decent looking hook. Durnagoz moves forwards but Gagiev connects with a nice, crisp jab. Gagiev sizes up Durnagoz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Durnagoz throws a lazy head kick and Gagiev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Durnagoz takes one to the chin there.
Durnagoz is rocked! Durnagoz finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Gagiev's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Durnagoz falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Murat Gagiev!
