The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ricklass has managed to clinch.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Velasquez controlling the position. Ricklass must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ricklass stopping the sweep attempt from Velasquez. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velasquez is pulling down on Ricklass's head to control his posture. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Velasquez is standing up over Ricklass.
