The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pantelidis shoots in for a takedown but Cormier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Cormier shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cormier showed some decent athleticism there.
Pantelidis scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cormier manages to mount him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cormier has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Hilo. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Pantelidis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pantelidis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Pantelidis really wants to buck Cormier off and get back to his feet.

Cormier with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
