Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Mckee (ranked 7402 p4p, 0 weight class) and Penn Diaz (ranked 4716 p4p, 402 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Diaz's choice of entrance music: Feel Good Inc.. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Mckee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Penn Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mckee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mckee wants it to stay on the feet.
Mckee seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Diaz drives through and clinches with Mckee against the cage.
Diaz displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mckee up against the cage.
Diaz wants to take the fight to the mat but Mckee manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with Mckee, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes Mckee against the cage but Mckee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mckee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Penn Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mckee shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Diaz tries to kick Mckee off in order to stand up. Mckee Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Mckee throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown. Mckee tries to sprawl out of it but Diaz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mckee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mckee's waist but Mckee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.
Mckee was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mckee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mckee sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Diaz is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Penn Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jesse Mckee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mckee is staying tight to Diaz's torso, preventing him from escaping.
