Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gosha Lopez (ranked 2760 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domonic Dilbrandt (ranked 7450 p4p, 300 weight class). Lopez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sho Z-pod duba. Domonic Dilbrandt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dilbrandt.
Dilbrandt throws a poor cross that misses
and Lopez counters with a nice body shot.
Lopez gets a double leg takedown into Dilbrandt's guard.
Lopez pushes down on Dilbrandt's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dilbrandt felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Lopez wants to free his trapped foot but Dilbrandt is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dilbrandt is trying to stand.

Lopez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lopez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lopez moves into full mount! Dilbrandt won't be happy about that!
Dilbrandt can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lopez mounts Dilbrandt! Really nice guard pass there!

Lopez wants to control the pace but Dilbrandt is squirming around nicely.
Dilbrandt has given up his back here. Will Lopez look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Lopez has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Lopez is not going to allow Dilbrandt to sit and survive in this position.
Lopez is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Dilbrandt has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Lopez has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Dilbrandt taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Lopez doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gosha Lopez!
After winning the bout, Gosha Lopez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Domonic Dilbrandt spoke after the fight, saying 'QFC matchmaking is the single most idiotic thing I have ever heard of, at least make fighters slightly comparable.'.
