Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tua Taamu (ranked 4131 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 2109 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Therion - Sitra Ahra as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Smith!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Smith.
Taamu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith throws out a counter right but Taamu avoids it with no problem.
Smith misses with a head kick.
Taamu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Taamu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Taamu appears to be looking for a big counter.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Taamu's shoulder, as Taamu tries to avoid the shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Smith.
Taamu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
Smith throws a head kick that misses
and Taamu counters with a left to the body.
Taamu connects with a high kick.

It looks like Mike Smith has been cut.
Taamu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taamu avoids the head kick by Smith.
Taamu cracks the inside of Smith's front leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taamu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Taamu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Taamu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Smith throws a head kick but Taamu moves out of range.
Taamu seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Taamu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Taamu is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Taamu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Taamu. That one must have hurt.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Taamu moves out of range easily.
Smith checks a low kick from Taamu.
Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Taamu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith throws a fast counter high kick but Taamu manages to duck under it in time.

Smith clinches up with Taamu and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A short uppercut from Taamu.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Taamu takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Smith is working Taamu over against the cage.
A short left from Taamu.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith manages to break the clinch.
Taamu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Smith throws a series of punches but Taamu moves out of range.
Taamu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Taamu misses with a body shot
and Smith counters with a straight right hand.

Taamu cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Taamu finish him?

Smith is rocked!
Taamu steps in with a hook that catches Smith right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Taamu follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Smith looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tua Taamu!
A relieved looking Tua Taamu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
