Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Sergio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergio comes into the arena with sandstrom blaring out of the sound system. Paulo Sergio could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ben Stoner's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paulo Sergio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Stoner! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stoner fails to land with a series of punches.
Sergio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sergio scores with a takedown into Stoner's guard. Stoner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sergio is one step ahead there. Sergio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stoner is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sergio, into his guard. Stoner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Stoner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sergio has his foot on Stoner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stoner works his way back into a safe position though. Sergio throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stoner uses it to pass to side control.

Sergio tries to lock up and control but Stoner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Stoner lands with some strikes. Sergio is trying desperately to improve position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sergio tries to reverse the position but Stoner maintains control. Stoner lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sergio hang on? Stoner sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The referee warns Sergio that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sergio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sergio flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Stoner tries to bum rush Sergio with a series of wild strikes but Sergio uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Stoner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sergio shoots in and bounces Stoner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sergio loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sergio trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Stoner controlling the position. Sergio won't allow Stoner to get back to his feet. Stoner tries to strike from the bottom.
Stoner has control of Sergio's left arm, preventing Sergio from doing any damage. Sergio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stoner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sergio has Stoner in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sergio looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stoner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sergio avoids the head kick by Stoner.
Ben Stoner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Stoner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stoner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sergio circles away quickly and effectively. Stoner fails to land with a series of punches.
Stoner has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stoner there as he acknowledges the shot. Stoner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sergio moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sergio tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sergio fails with the takedown. Sergio takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Sergio looks for a takedown but Stoner sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Sergio. Stoner has escaped and now he's on top! Stoner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sergio is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sergio looking for subs off his back but Stoner has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Stoner postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sergio to stand up. Ben Stoner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stoner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stoner scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Sergio takes a shot right to the bread basket. Stoner wants to clinch. Stoner throws a right hand that Sergio ducks under and follows up with a left that Sergio also avoids with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Stoner misses with a double jab.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sergio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle!
