Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hernan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogueira's entrance music is Three Days Grace - Animal I Have Become (One-X) . A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Machado is pressing down on Nogueira's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nogueira is holding on for now.
Nogueira is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Machado pulls his head out easily.
Machado should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machado drops an elbow to the side of Nogueira's head.
Machado frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Machado throws some wild stikes that Nogueira manages to avoid easily.

Machado wants to control but Nogueira has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Machado is looking to stall here but Nogueira recovers full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nogueira drops back looking for a leg! Machado is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Machado manages to kick Nogueira off! Nogueira jumps back into Machado's guard.
Machado wants to control the position but Nogueira says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Machado is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nogueira's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nogueira's back!

Machado thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Nogueira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Machado had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nogueira is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machado Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nogueira's back instead.
Machado is looking for the choke from the back position but Nogueira is controlling his hands well.

Nogueira is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Machado is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nogueira tries to roll but Machado sticks to his back.
Nogueira turns into Machado and is now in his guard.
Machado looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nogueira passes into half guard.

and Machado counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nogueira's guard now.

Machado drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nogueira manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Machado has Nogueira in his guard.

Machado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Machado stuffs the takedown attempt from Nogueira. Nogueira gets slowly back to his feet.
Machado fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nogueira sprawls well initially but Machado persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nogueira tries to lock up and control but Machado gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

and Machado counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nogueira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nogueira controls Machado momentarily but Machado frees himself.
Nogueira keeping moving, preventing Machado from controlling successfully.
Machado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nogueira is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machado, into his guard.

Machado controls Nogueira momentarily but Nogueira frees himself.
Nogueira makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Machado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nogueira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nogueira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nogueira slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hernan Machado showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Machado has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nogueira is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Machado.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nogueira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Machado is trying to control Nogueira's posture but Nogueira avoids it.

Machado is trying to control but Nogueira manages to pass to mount!

BOOM! Nogueira connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Machado wants to hold on but Nogueira pushes him away.

Nogueira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Machado is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nogueira gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Hernan Machado comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Machado has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
