Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ovie Simpson (ranked 3795 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Valdaev (ranked 6002 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdaev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Simpson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Valdaev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Simpson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Valdaev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Simpson is just riding it out for now. Valdaev eventually gives up the hold.

Valdaev is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Simpson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Simpson shrugs it off.
