Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between VJ Mithani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brayan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mithani kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Forever - Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem. Brayan Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith throws a head kick but Mithani moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smith tries to land a front kick but Mithani steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Smith throws a head kick but Mithani moves out of range.
Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mithani sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Smith tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mithani controls his leg. Smith is thwarting Mithani's attempts to control the position. Mithani missing with punches from the bottom.
Mithani is trying to control but can't.
Mithani kicks off Smith and gets to his feet. Mithani pushes Smith up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith trying to stall but Mithani improves his position.
Smith tries to pull guard but Mithani won't allow it.
Mithani stops a takedown attempt from Smith.
Mithani pulls guard successfully.
Mithani is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea. Mithani has his feet on Smith's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Mithani shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Mithani keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mithani tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Smith throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mithani's head. Smith fails with the takedown and Mithani counters with a one-two to the body. VJ Mithani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brayan Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mithani throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mithani feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Mithani is proving a slippery customer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mithani stopping the sweep attempt from Smith. Smith working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mithani slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mithani tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mithani has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mithani controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mithani tries to score with some ground and pound. Smith controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. Mithani is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
VJ Mithani dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mithani is trying to keep Smith in close.
Smith prevents Mithani from getting back to his feet. Mithani will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mithani. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mithani wants to sweep but no luck. Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Mithani gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Smith keeping moving, preventing Mithani from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mithani slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mithani decides to stand back up. Mithani steps back and let's Smith get back to his feet. Mithani with a lazy takedown attempt and Smith counters with a takedown into side control. Smith decides to take the fight back to the feet. Mithani tries to clinch but Smith moves away and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Mithani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Smith with a flurry of punches that miss. Smith controlling from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mithani keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Mithani doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mithani is trying to control the position but Smith postures up. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Mithani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mithani's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mithani throws out a powerful jab. Smith circles away from the clinch attempt and Smith counters with a thumping low kick. Mithani has managed to clinch.
Smith pulls guard effortlessly. Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mithani wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Smith wants to sweep here but Mithani controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mithani sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard. Mithani frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mithani lands a heavy elbow. Brayan Smith has got the better of the ground game so far. Mithani trying to control but he's not successful this time. Smith is wriggling around trying to escape.
Smith holds on, trying desperately to control. Mithani dominating with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brayan Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Mithani's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Mithani scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mithani moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Mithani has hold of Smith's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Smith tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mithani cranks the arm and Smith screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Smith, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
