Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dee Bag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Lusion! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bag looks to land a combination but Lusion avoids it well. Some wild striking there from Bag.
Bag misses with the combination.
Bag lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Bag keeps the fight on the outside. Bag shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lusion actively working from the bottom here. Lusion looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lusion punching from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bag tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lusion knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bag is trying to work for a kimura but Lusion is defending well.
Bag trying to control the pace. Bag trying to control the action but Lusion is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bag seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lusion fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bag rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lusion moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lusion tries to close the distance and clinch but Bag swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bag throws a series of punches but Lusion avoids them all with ease. Lusion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bag paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lusion tries for a takedown but Bag sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bag misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lusion tries to clinch up. Lusion throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bag's waist but Bag gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lusion off to one side. Lusion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bag avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bag connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Lusion is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Some wild striking there from Bag.
Bag changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bag throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lusion. Bag misses with a two punch combination.
Lusion takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bag throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bag circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bag throws a series of punches but Lusion avoids them all with ease. Lusion is looking to clinch but Bag is avoiding it.
Lusion throws a head kick that half lands.
Bag misses with a double jab.
Both fighters circling a little - Bag finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Lusion tries to clinch there but Bag circles away.
Bag throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lusion. Lusion circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dee Bag dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Bag throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bag closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lusion circles away. Bag fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lusion sprawls well initially but Bag persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lusion moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bag trying to control but Lusion is working from the bottom. Bag stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lusion swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lusion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lusion has an active guard here but Bag has managed to pass into half guard.
Lusion looking for submissions off his back. Lusion is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Bag seems content to control. Bag wants to control but Lusion is keeping him busy. Bag tries to pass to full mount but Lusion defends it. Bag is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lusion is looking for a sweep. Bag is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lusion moves into full guard.
Lusion is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lusion has a closed guard, preventing Bag from standing up. Lusion throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bag escapes and throws Lusion's legs to the side, diving into side control! Lusion is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bag looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bag tries to move to mount but Lusion blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bag working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lusion is looking to regain half guard here but Bag keeps moving and retains side control. Lusion is trying to work for a sweep but Bag has mounted him! Lusion is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lusion bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Lusion preventing the sweep. Lusion stands and throws Bag's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lusion tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bag is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Dee Bag will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Lusion darts in trying to clinch and Bag counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bag drops back looking for a leg! Lusion is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lusion manages to kick Bag off! Bag jumps back into Lusion's guard. Lusion looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bag passes into half guard.
Lusion is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bag pulls his head out easily. Lusion throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Bag manages to pass to side control. Lusion takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bag tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bag has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Bag decides to stand back up. Bag steps back and let's Lusion get back to his feet. Bag throws a right hand that Lusion ducks under and follows up with a left that Lusion also avoids with ease. Bag works over Lusion's head and body with a nice combination. Bag rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lusion moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lusion slips a jab and a cross from Bag.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lusion wants to clinch but Bag slips to the side and Bag cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A punch combination from Bag misses. Horrible takedown by Lusion or perhaps it was just good defense by Bag which made him look bad. Bag misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bag tries to bum rush Lusion with a series of wild strikes but Lusion uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lusion moves out of range of the body kick from Bag.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lusion clinches but Bag breaks the clinch and Bag counters with a one-two to the body. Bag scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Lusion tries to clinch and Bag counters with a nice body shot. Bag throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lusion. Bag throws a series of punches but Lusion moves out of range. Lusion wants to clinch but Bag slips to the side and Bag counters with a series of strikes. Lusion will be more careful next time no doubt. Lusion tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bag counters with a series of strikes. Lusion will be more careful next time no doubt. That's four minutes gone in the round. Lusion tries to clinch up and Bag counters with a three punch combo that has Lusion backing up. Lusion nods at Bag to acknowledge the strikes. Bag connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Anthony Lusion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lusion swats away the attempt to clinch by Bag. Bag throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dee Bag is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lusion tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! Dee Bag showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bag has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
