Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shane Mitchell (ranked 4056 p4p, 307 weight class) and Janus Galtson (ranked 4998 p4p, 339 weight class). Mitchell comes to the cage accompanied by Michael Jackson - Beat it. Shane Mitchell has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Janus Galtson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitchell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Galtson, pushing him back against the cage. Mitchell has Galtson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Galtson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Galtson is trying to force a seperation but Mitchell has the dominant position. A right hook to the body lands for Galtson.
Mitchell tries for a takedown but Galtson manages to get underhooks.
Mitchell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Galtson regains guard immediately. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Galtson trying to control the position.
Mitchell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galtson seems a little lost for a moment, as Mitchell dominates the positioning. Mitchell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Mitchell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Galtson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitchell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mitchell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mitchell just content to control the position. Galtson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Mitchell controlling the position from side mount. Mitchell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Galtson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galtson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Mitchell not doing much here.
Galtson preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Galtson is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Mitchell seems content to control. Galtson is looking to improve his position.
Mitchell maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Galtson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mitchell has cracked it and Galtson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mitchell!
