0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oliver Cox! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cox circles away. Shaw looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cox! Cox throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Shaw fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Shaw fails in his attempt to clinch. Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown. Cox tries to sprawl out of it but Shaw keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cox manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deair Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cox drives through with a takedown into Shaw's guard. Cox lands a couple of good shots and Shaw has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Cox looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Shaw taps!
