Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Clarke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandin Duncan! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clarke moves into the clinch. Clarke breaks from the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Clarke lands a left hand.
Duncan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Clarke gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Clarke softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Clarke gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Duncan.
Clarke lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Duncan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Clarke gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Anthony Clarke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandin Duncan. Duncan wants a takedown.
Clarke tries to circle away but Duncan has him pinned against the cage. Clarke lands with a short head shot on the inside. Clarke stops a takedown attempt from Duncan.
Duncan is looking to take this one to the mat. Duncan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Clarke manages to break the clinch.
Duncan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duncan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Clarke fails with an attempt to clinch.
Clarke tries to clinch there but Duncan circles away.
Duncan feints the counter takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clarke fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Duncan, pushing him back against the cage. Clarke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Clarke throws a series of punches but Duncan avoids them all with ease. Clarke pushes Duncan up against the cage in a clinch. Clarke manages to break the clinch.
Clarke tries to clinch there but Duncan circles away.
Clarke has managed to clinch.
Clarke lands a hook that snaps the head of Duncan backwards. Clarke lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Clarke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Clarke forces Duncan back against the cage and clinches. Clarke breaks from the clinch.
Clarke clinches up with Duncan and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Clarke breaks from the clinch.
Clarke instigates a clinch. Duncan has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Clarke is trying to keep an underhook but Duncan manages to get the takedown into half guard. Clarke is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Duncan scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan is trying for a kimura here. Clarke looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Duncan wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brandin Duncan! Brandin Duncan decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
