Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Hammer (ranked 1254 p4p, 152 weight class) and Miro Bang (ranked 1436 p4p, 179 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Thor Hammer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 28 - 0, fighting out of London, Miro Bang!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bang has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Hammer throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Bang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hammer scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Bang manages to mount him!

Bang moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hammer has worked his arm free - good work by Hammer!

Bang working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Bang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hammer has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hammer's coaches at FIERCE - {{$750}} - 15 Elite Coaches have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Hammer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bang sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hammer is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Bang goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hammer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bang but great work by Hammer.
Bang is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hammer decides to stand back up. Hammer steps back and let's Bang get back to his feet.
Bang ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bang tries to counter with a clinch but Hammer shakes him off and moves away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Bang has clasped his hands together around Hammer's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Hammer bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Thor Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bang shoots and misses
and Hammer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hammer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bang drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hammer defends it well.
Bang doesn't manage to clinch there - Hammer circles away.

Bang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hammer was covering up waiting for the punch and Bang finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bang drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hammer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bang has Hammer in his guard.


Bang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hammer is aware though and is defending well.

Bang throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hammer uses it to pass to side control.
Hammer gets to mount! Bang was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hammer prevents Bang from getting the reversal.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammer looking to control and managing it successfully.
Bang is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Hammer stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Hammer lands a big head kick that sends Bang tumbling to the mat! Hammer takes a step backwards and waves Bang back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Miro Bang has been cut.
Bang fails with the takedown.
Bang displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hammer throws out the jab.
Bang appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Bang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thor Hammer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miro Bang.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hammer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bang.
Hammer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bang with the counter takedown but Hammer avoids it easily.
Nice defenses there by Bang.
Bang tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hammer throws a sloppy head kick

and Bang counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bang is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hammer reverses the position - he's now on top in Bang's guard.

Hammer stands up and waves to Bang to follow him.
Hammer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A big right from Hammer misses.
Hammer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thor Hammer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Miro Bang's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bang fails with the takedown.
Hammer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bang is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Bang walks into a straight right hand from Hammer.
Hammer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


Bang is rocked!
Bang takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bang is still on wobbly legs! Can Hammer finish him?
Bang closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hammer counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Bang falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Thor Hammer!
Thor Hammer was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
