Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jaguanai Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sylus Mindenov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sylus Mindenov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sylus Mindenov! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freitas tries to close the distance and clinch but Mindenov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mindenov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Freitas tries a head kick but it misses.
A combination from Mindenov does no damage. Freitas tries to clinch up. Freitas dodges the punch combination from Mindenov.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Freitas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mindenov! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Freitas wants to control the pace but Mindenov is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mindenov is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Freitas has taken his back! Mindenov looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Freitas throwing sloppy strikes. Freitas working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mindenov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mindenov throws a right and a left that both miss. Mindenov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Freitas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mindenov sprawls well initially but Freitas persists and gets the takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jaguanai Freitas will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Freitas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Freitas wants to stand but Mindenov has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Freitas is trying to control the action in half guard but Mindenov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mindenov is trying to escape back to his feet but Freitas uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Freitas decides to stand back up. No luck for Freitas with that takedown attempt. Mindenov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Freitas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mindenov throws out the jab. Mindenov takes a kick to the side of the head. Mindenov throws a series of punches but Freitas moves out of range. Freitas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mindenov is trying to stand up here but Freitas is controlling him well. Freitas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mindenov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Freitas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mindenov keeps working.

Freitas is keen to just control but Mindenov is a slippery customer. Freitas thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Mindenov to regain full guard. Mindenov pushes Freitas off and gets back to his feet.

Sylus Mindenov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jaguanai Freitas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mindenov misses with a series of wild punches.
Freitas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mindenov tries to avoid it but Freitas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mindenov to the ground. Mindenov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jaguanai Freitas showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Freitas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
