Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omer Rutledge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shawn Revarn! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Revarn lands a left and a right that send Rutledge crashing to the mat, dazed. Revarn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rutledge is rocked!
It looks like Omer Rutledge has been cut. Revarn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rutledge sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Oh Rutledge is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Revarn misses with a takedown attempt and Rutledge counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Revarn has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Rutledge off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Revarn closes the distance and clinches. Rutledge seems to have got his legs back now. Rutledge goes for a takedown in the clinch but Revarn prevents it.

Revarn decides to pull guard. Revarn throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rutledge landing with the ground and pound. Rutledge missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rutledge throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rutledge accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rutledge might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Revarn is looking to stand up but Rutledge isn't so interested in that idea. Rutledge distracts Revarn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Rutledge scoring with some ground and pound. Rutledge really is a fat lump. Revarn is looking to stand up but Rutledge isn't so interested in that idea. Revarn has Rutledge pulled in close to control his posture. Revarn looking for a sweep. Not yet Revarn, not yet. Rutledge lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rutledge loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rutledge working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rutledge throwing strikes from guard but Revarn blocks nicely. Revarn is adopting a defensive guard.

Rutledge loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rutledge lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Revarn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Revarn is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutledge throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Revarn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Revarn is trying to keep Rutledge in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Revarn gets a clinch. Rutledge is working for takedown but Revarn is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Omer Rutledge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutledge has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Revarn after a bit of a struggle. Rutledge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Revarn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rutledge gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Revarn makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Revarn gets underhooks to prevent Rutledge's takedown attempt.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Revarn tries to score a body lock takedown but Rutledge shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Revarn tries to pull guard but Rutledge forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Revarn tries to pull guard but Rutledge holds him up against the cage and eventually Revarn drops back down to his feet.
Revarn has had enough of the clinch but Rutledge keeps him there for the moment. Revarn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rutledge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Revarn avoids it really well and circles away. Rutledge leaves Revarn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rutledge throws a quick counter head kick but Revarn was just out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn Revarn dominated that round. The cut man is working on Omer Rutledge's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Revarn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rutledge is trying to improve his position. Rutledge is working hard here to advance position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Revarn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rutledge to his feet. Revarn has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutledge takes one to the side of the head.
A head kick from Revarn lands but Rutledge takes it in his stride. Rutledge tries to keep at a distance but Revarn has taken the fight into the clinch. Revarn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rutledge.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Revarn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rutledge has his takedown stuffed and Revarn counters with a crisp one two that drops Rutledge! Revarn thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Rutledge to his feet! Rutledge is in big trouble!
Omer Rutledge's cut is getting worse. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Omer Rutledge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Revarn shoots in for a double leg but Rutledge sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Revarn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Revarn is working for a submission of some sort.
Revarn has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rutledge is pressing down on Revarn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Revarn works a leg free and moves into half guard. Rutledge looking for submissions off his back. Revarn decides to stand up. Revarn lands with a good body shot. Revarn goes for a double leg but Rutledge avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rutledge continues to drive forward. Revarn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rutledge pushes Revarn off but Revarn dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutledge is trying to work for a sweep but Revarn has mounted him! Revarn landing shots from mount.
Omer Rutledge's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Shawn Revarn has got the better of the ground game so far. Revarn controlling his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Revarn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rutledge is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shawn Revarn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Omer Rutledge's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rutledge. Rutledge closes the distance and clinches up with Revarn, looking for a takedown. Rutledge pushes Revarn against the cage but Revarn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Rutledge has Revarn pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rutledge pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Revarn tumbling to the mat - Rutledge dives into Revarn's guard. Revarn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Revarn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rutledge defends it easily. Revarn has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rutledge is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Revarn postures up and lands a big shot to Rutledge's brow. Revarn trying to control but Rutledge is working from the bottom. Rutledge working for submissions but it's allowed Revarn to get to half guard.
Revarn prevents Rutledge from improving his position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Revarn stands up and beckons Rutledge to join him on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Revarn closes the distance and clinches. Revarn stops a takedown attempt from Rutledge.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Omer Rutledge. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutledge jumps into guard, dragging Revarn to the mat.
Revarn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Revarn trying to control but Rutledge is working from the bottom. Revarn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Revarn trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutledge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Revarn drops back looking for a leg! Rutledge is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rutledge manages to kick Revarn off! Revarn jumps back into Rutledge's guard. Revarn sitting in guard here, content to control. Rutledge thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Revarn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rutledge, up you get! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Revarn!
Revarn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rutledge defends it nicely. Rutledge lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Revarn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rutledge swivels and escapes. Revarn closes the distance and pushes Rutledge back into the cage. Rutledge gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Rutledge working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Rutledge scoring with punches to the head and body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Revarn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

And that's the end of the fight! Shawn Revarn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Revarn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
