Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryon Schultz (ranked 22460 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonhy Duggan (ranked 3002 p4p, 347 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonhy Duggan!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Duggan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schultz is trying to defend but Duggan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schultz is trying is best to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Schultz pulls Duggan in close to prevent any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Duggan stands up over Schultz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonhy Duggan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Duggan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Duggan dives in and scores a takedown into Schultz's guard.
Schultz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Duggan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Duggan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Schultz keeping moving, preventing Duggan from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schultz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Duggan's guard.

Duggan is looking to stand back up but Schultz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Duggan.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duggan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Duggan is looking to control Schultz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Duggan avoid being mounted?

Duggan kicks Schultz off and gets back to his feet.
Duggan leaves Schultz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Schultz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duggan pinned against the cage. Duggan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Duggan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Schultz to the ground. Duggan is now in Schultz's guard.

Duggan is fighting to break Schultz's control of his arms but Schultz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Schultz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duggan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Schultz dives in for a single leg takedown but Duggan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryon Schultz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Schultz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Duggan shoots in and gets a takedown into Schultz's guard.
Duggan is stalling in the full guard.
Duggan postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Duggan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Duggan wants to pass the guard but Schultz is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonhy Duggan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Schultz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Duggan has Schultz pressed against the cage.
Schultz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Duggan walks away with a smile on his face. Schultz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Schultz tries to sprawl but Duggan drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Duggan working over Schultz with some ground and pound. Schultz looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Schultz wants to improve his position but Duggan is controlling well.

Schultz wants to control but Duggan is keeping busy.

Schultz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Schultz.
Duggan is working Schultz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Schultz throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duggan wants to get back to his feet but Schultz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Duggan is trying to control the position but Schultz postures up.
Schultz scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Schultz stopping the sweep attempt from Duggan.
Schultz is in close to Duggan's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Duggan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schultz defends it easily.
Duggan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Schultz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Schultz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Schultz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Duggan pulls Schultz in close to prevent any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Schultz connects with a couple of short punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bryon Schultz.
I think Duggan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
