PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John McCain (ranked 2768 p4p, 168 weight class) and John Silver (ranked 6689 p4p, 289 weight class). McCain's entrance music is Anywhere I Go. A fine choice. On his way into the cage it seems that John McCain has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John McCain seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McCain thinks about countering with a body kick.
Silver throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Silver gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McCain to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McCain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Silver has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McCain is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silver.
Silver tries to bench press McCain off him but McCain keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silver, who protects the arm well.
McCain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McCain is looking to control Silver's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCain avoid being mounted?

McCain has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Silver doesn't defend quickly enough and McCain has managed to lock this one up! Can Silver escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to McCain on a fantastic submission victory.
