Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Barry (ranked 5973 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralph Martin Pacaldo (ranked 4592 p4p, 0 weight class). Pacaldo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Song for the Suspect. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rolando Barry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ralph Martin Pacaldo! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Pacaldo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pacaldo. Barry takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Pacaldo lands a nice shot to the body.
Barry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pacaldo swivels and escapes. Pacaldo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Pacaldo throws a leg kick that is checked and Barry counters with a shoot takedown. Pacaldo fights it but they end up in guard. Pacaldo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Barry manages to pass to side control. Pacaldo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice strikes from Barry there. Pacaldo trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Barry takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pacaldo wants to improve his position but Barry is controlling well.
Barry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barry scoring with strikes to the body and head. Barry slips a nice elbow through Pacaldo's hands, connecting with Pacaldo's forehead. Pacaldo trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Barry manages to pass to mount!

Barry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pacaldo is looking to get to half guard. Barry lands a couple of good shots and Pacaldo has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacaldo rolls, trying to escape but Barry keeps control of the position.
Pacaldo is still trying to improve position. Pacaldo is trying to remain composed but Barry is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Barry softening up his opponent with strikes here.
I really don't envy Pacaldo right now.
Barry is landing with strikes. Pacaldo can't take much more of this. Barry cracks Pacaldo with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Pacaldo from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Barry is working the ground and pound. Can Pacaldo escape? Pacaldo can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Barry lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Barry.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pacaldo wants to control his opponent's hands but Barry gets his hands free. Pacaldo is really stuck here.
Barry scores with punches and elbows. Pacaldo tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rolando Barry dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pacaldo swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Barry. Barry is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pacaldo. Pacaldo moves into the clinch. Pacaldo prevents Barry from breaking the clinch. Pacaldo misses with a body punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pacaldo lands with a right to the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Pacaldo. Pacaldo struggles to land a body shot inside as Barry controls his hands.

Pacaldo scores with an uppercut up the middle. Barry prevents a body shot from Pacaldo. Pacaldo misses with a body punch.
Pacaldo digs a right hand underneath Barry's ribcage. Barry let out a lung full of air as it connected. Pacaldo stops a takedown attempt from Barry.
Pacaldo can't find room to land a body shot as Barry controls the action.
Pacaldo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Barry backwards. A right hand to the body from Pacaldo.
Pacaldo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pacaldo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Pacaldo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barry has a couple of punches blocked by Pacaldo.
Barry is looking to control Pacaldo's arms but Pacaldo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barry has his back to the cage. Barry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pacaldo cracks Barry with a right hand to the side of the head. Pacaldo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Barry is able to avoid easily. Barry takes one to the side of the head.
Barry looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pacaldo is fending him off so far but Barry persists. Nope, Pacaldo circles away and we're back to standing. It seemed like Pacaldo was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Barry lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pacaldo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pacaldo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Barry on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Pacaldo misses with a wild body shot. Nice straight punches there by Pacaldo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pacaldo. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pacaldo closes the distance and clinches. Pacaldo cracks Barry with a nice body shot.

Barry fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rolando Barry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barry scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pacaldo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Barry's best efforts. Nice strikes from Barry there. Pacaldo wants to control but Barry is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Barry has control of an arm but Pacaldo manages to advance to Barry's back! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barry manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pacaldo's guard. Nice work there by Barry.
Pacaldo is trying to control the position but Barry postures up. Barry is in close to Pacaldo's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pacaldo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Barry. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Barry's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pacaldo has his hands on Barry's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralph Martin Pacaldo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Barry shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pacaldo misses with a body kick. Pacaldo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jab from Pacaldo. Barry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pacaldo pinned against the cage. Pacaldo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barry's hands. Pacaldo's corner calls for a 1-2. Pacaldo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Pacaldo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Pacaldo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Barry has time to react. Barry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Barry's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pacaldo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Barry scrambles back to his feet. Pacaldo motions for Barry to come forward. Pacaldo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Barry throws a big counter combination but Pacaldo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Ralph Martin Pacaldo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pacaldo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barry looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Barry drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ralph Martin Pacaldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barry drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Barry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pacaldo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Barry makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pacaldo seems keen to control Barry's posture. Pacaldo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barry is one step ahead there. This has been an exciting period of action! Barry makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacaldo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Barry has picked Pacaldo up and slammed him! Pacaldo can't keep hold of the triangle and Barry manages to pass to side control! Barry landing a few strikes. Barry working the head with strikes. Pacaldo is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barry scoring with punches and elbows. Pacaldo is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Barry is one step ahead and moves to full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pacaldo can do anything to dispel that myth. Pacaldo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Barry lands a couple of good shots and Pacaldo has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Pacaldo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Barry landing with strikes. Barry gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pacaldo grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barry is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Pacaldo. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Barry has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Pacaldo. Pacaldo trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Pacaldo tries to roll but Barry sticks to his back.
Pacaldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pacaldo is covering up but some of the strikes from Barry are getting through and doing damage.
