Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sydney Pace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Alstair!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pace fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pace really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alstair lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pace has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pace and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Pace is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alstair is just riding it out for now. Pace eventually gives up the hold.
Pace looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Alstair with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pace changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alstair looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sydney Pace is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pace is working to tighten his grip on Alstair's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Alstair has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Pace is really squeezing tight and eventually Alstair passes out! Pace breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
