Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Silvereto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Saint Pierre shoots in looking for a takedown. Silvereto tries to sprawl out of it but Saint Pierre keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silvereto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Saint Pierre counters with a good, hard body kick but Silvereto shrugs it off.
Saint Pierre feints and as Silvereto raises his hands in defense, Saint Pierre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Saint Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silvereto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Saint Pierre takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Saint Pierre shoots in looking for a takedown. Silvereto tries to sprawl out of it but Saint Pierre keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silvereto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Saint Pierre remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Silvereto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Saint Pierre has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Saint Pierre and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
