PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Cassel (ranked 23214 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aramis Knox (ranked 6333 p4p, 0 weight class). Knox has chosen You're Going Down | Sick Puppies as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Aramis Knox is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox connects with a single shot there.

Knox has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Knox has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Knox has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Knox has Cassel pressed against the cage, preventing Cassel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Knox ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Knox no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Aramis Knox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Cassel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Cassel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Knox gets control of Cassel's arms and successfully pulls guard. Knox will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Cassel wants to get up but he can't break Knox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Aramis Knox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Knox has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
