Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colton Schroeder (ranked 4670 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djdi Sbsj (ranked 4674 p4p, 247 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Colton Schroeder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Djdi Sbsj! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sbsj shoots in and bounces Schroeder off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Schroeder is looking to stand up but Sbsj isn't so interested in that idea. Schroeder pulls Sbsj in to control the position. Sbsj slips nicely into half guard. Schroeder is looking to escape. Schroeder moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sbsj stands and throws Schroeder's legs to the side, diving into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schroeder is trying to improve his position. Schroeder is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sbsj's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sbsj is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schroeder wants to stand back up but Sbsj manages to pass into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action here. Schroeder is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Sbsj has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Schroeder rushes Sbsj and presses him up against the cage. Sbsj is trying to push Schroeder away but Schroeder has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Schroeder manages to break the clinch.
Sbsj avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sbsj misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schroeder dives in for a single leg takedown but Sbsj sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Sbsj misses with a combination
and Schroeder counters with a left and a right that stings Sbsj. Schroeder shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sbsj defends it nicely. Sbsj shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schroeder keeping hold of Sbsj's head, controlling as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sbsj content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Sbsj prevents Schroeder from improving his position. Sbsj thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sbsj is keen to just control but Schroeder is a slippery customer. Schroeder slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Schroeder lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Sbsj pushes Schroeder off and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schroeder tries to sprawl but Sbsj drives through with a takedown into half guard. Schroeder is concentrating on defense, preventing Sbsj from advancing position. Schroeder trying to control here.
Schroeder makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Schroeder. Schroeder seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Schroeder is breathing heavily. Schroeder looking for a sweep. Not yet Schroeder, not yet. Sbsj stops Schroeder from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schroeder fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sbsj drives through with a takedown into Schroeder's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Schroeder is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sbsj is controlling him. Sbsj wants to control from the top but Schroeder keeps moving. Schroeder pulls Sbsj in to control the position. Schroeder tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schroeder is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schroeder lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Sbsj trying to keep a closed guard but Schroeder is proving a slippery customer.

Sbsj had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schroeder defends it easily. Schroeder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sbsj works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Schroeder throwing strikes but missing. Schroeder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Schroeder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Schroeder scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Schroeder trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Schroeder works over Sbsj with some ground and pound from guard. Schroeder won't allow Sbsj to sweep him here. Sbsj trying to strike off his back.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Sbsj swats away the attempt to clinch by Schroeder. The fight stays on the outside here - Schroeder looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sbsj shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schroeder napping and manages to drive through into side control! Schroeder throws Sbsj to one side and escapes!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sbsj keeps the fight on the outside. Schroeder is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Schroeder tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sbsj paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sbsj tries to clinch up but Schroeder circles away and keeps his distance. Sbsj feints and as Schroeder raises his hands in defense, Sbsj changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sbsj is breathing heavily. Schroeder wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Schroeder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sbsj keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sbsj is trying to control but can't.
Schroeder throwing shots but Sbsj is blocking nicely. Schroeder landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sbsj is looking to control Schroeder's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sbsj avoid being mounted? Ground and pound from Schroeder. Schroeder seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schroeder's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Sbsj trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Sbsj doesn't manage to clinch there - Schroeder circles away.
Sbsj looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Schroeder tries to kick Sbsj off in order to stand up. Sbsj Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Sbsj decides to stand back up. Sbsj shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Schroeder manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Schroeder pulls Sbsj in close to his closed guard and prevents Sbsj from doing any damage or advancing position. Sbsj looking to pass the guard. Sbsj takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sbsj got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schroeder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sbsj has managed to get both his arms back between Schroeder's legs - danger averted. Sbsj is fighting to break Schroeder's control of his arms but Schroeder is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Schroeder manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sbsj manages to get himself to full guard.
Schroeder won't allow Sbsj to sweep him here. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Schroeder's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Schroeder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sbsj works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Schroeder throwing strikes but missing. Schroeder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Schroeder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schroeder throwing strikes from guard but Sbsj blocks nicely. Schroeder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schroeder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Colton Schroeder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Schroeder postures up in Sbsj's guard and throws a big left but Sbsj blocks it. Schroeder working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Schroeder landing some decent shots from guard. Schroeder controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sbsj not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Schroeder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sbsj is now in Schroeder's guard. Schroeder is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Schroeder is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Schroeder wants to sweep here but Sbsj controlling him for the moment. Schroeder is controlling Sbsj's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schroeder looking for a sweep. Not yet Schroeder, not yet. Sbsj looking to pass the guard. Schroeder is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sbsj is controlling him. Sbsj would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Schroeder tries to clinch up. Sbsj changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schroeder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schroeder holding on. Sbsj trying to control the action but Schroeder is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Djdi Sbsj. I think Sbsj has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
