The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
YoYo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
YoYo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kanayama takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
YoYo taking a breather here.

Kanayama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. YoYo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

YoYo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Kanayama manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

YoYo misses with a takedown attempt - Kanayama sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That was a close second round but I would say that Joey YoYo will probably get the nod.
