Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Rumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Pena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Juan Pena has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Rumble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Pena!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Pena with that takedown attempt.
Pena shoots for a double leg takedown but Rumble sprawls well. He's pushed Pena's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pena shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pena tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rumble.
Rumble gets full guard.
Rumble is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Pena stands up from Rumble's guard - Pena perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pena throws a right hand that Rumble ducks under and follows up with a left that Rumble also avoids with ease.

Rumble shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pena is pressing down on Rumble's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Pena looks gassed!

Pena has momentary wrist control but Rumble slips an elbow through the middle.
Rumble lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Rumble postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rumble accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pena is trying to control the position but Rumble postures up.
Pena utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rumble works over Pena with some ground and pound from guard.
Rumble has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rumble thows a big elbow that misses.
Rumble loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pena bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rumble's guard.

Rumble kicks Pena off and gets to his feet.
Pena shoots and misses

and Rumble counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Luiz Rumble has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Pena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rumble throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pena works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rumble tries to free his leg and advance position but Pena is retaining full guard.
Rumble is looking to work some ground and pound but Pena has wrist control.
Rumble stands up over Pena, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pena doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rumble counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pena wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pena wants to control but Rumble is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rumble is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pena is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rumble's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rumble's back!

Pena changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rumble looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rumble knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pena on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pena wants to control the pace but Rumble is squirming around nicely.
Rumble tries to lock up and control but Pena gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rumble is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pena trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Luiz Rumble overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rumble is trying to escape the mount.
Pena sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rumble flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Pena blocks Rumble's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Pena gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and Rumble counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pena won't be happy with that.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pena is on top in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luiz Rumble will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Rumble drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rumble drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pena dives on top into guard.

Pena drops back looking for a leg! Rumble is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rumble manages to kick Pena off! Pena jumps back into Rumble's guard.
Pena wants to control from the top but Rumble keeps moving.
Rumble looking for a sweep. Not yet Rumble, not yet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pena drops back looking for a leg! Rumble is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rumble manages to kick Pena off! Pena jumps back into Rumble's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rumble fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pena sprawls well initially but Rumble persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rumble with the ground and pound but Pena uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Rumble postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pena tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rumble throws and elbow that misses. Pena uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rumble's guard. Nice move by Pena!
