Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alka Mangrove (ranked 1132 p4p, 152 weight class) and Adonis Stevenson (ranked 2231 p4p, 275 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alka Mangrove!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Adonis Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangrove just misses with a punch to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Stevenson! But no joy.
Mangrove lands with a slapping head kick.
Stevenson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mangrove counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Mangrove's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Mangrove tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stevenson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mangrove wants to control but Stevenson is keeping him busy.
Mangrove trying to pass the guard but Stevenson defending well.
Mangrove wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stevenson keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mangrove is trying to work for a kimura but Stevenson is defending well.
Mangrove is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mangrove passes the guard and advances to mount!
Mangrove jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Stevenson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Stevenson and Mangrove has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Stevenson is pushing Mangrove's head away, looking to escape. Mangrove manages to hold on to the position though.
Mangrove is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stevenson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mangrove tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mangrove has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mangrove has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Stevenson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mangrove yanks on the arm and Stevenson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mangrove.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alka Mangrove!
Our winner, Alka Mangrove, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
