Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Neyman Gariniho (ranked 490 p4p, 71 weight class) and James Darren (ranked 1338 p4p, 183 weight class). Darren has chosen Here's to the losers as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neyman Gariniho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, James Darren!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darren throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gariniho.
Good work by Darren as he checks the leg kick.
Gariniho throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gariniho fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gariniho backing away here, and Darren unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Gariniho avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gariniho rushes Darren and presses him up against the cage.
Gariniho misses with the head strike.
Darren goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Gariniho manages to break the clinch.

Gariniho has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Darren.

Darren will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gariniho moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gariniho takes one to the side of the head.
Gariniho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Darren now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Gariniho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Darren paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Gariniho jabs Darren to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Darren moves out of range of the body kick.
Darren appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Gariniho throws a sloppy head kick
and Darren counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Darren steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gariniho.
Darren is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Gariniho with a body shot.
Gariniho tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Darren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gariniho pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gariniho chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gariniho is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darren.
Gariniho wants to clinch up but Darren keeps it at a distance.
Darren lands a slapping body shot.

Darren looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gariniho ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Darren lands an overhand right.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Darren throws a sloppy head kick and Gariniho moves out of range easily.
Darren avoids a kick to the body.
Gariniho lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Gariniho misses with a left hand
and Darren counters with a right hand to the body.
Darren scores with a jab.
Gariniho misses with a body shot.
Darren swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gariniho lands a right hook to the body.
Gariniho takes a swing at Darren's ribcage but misses.
Gariniho throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Darren takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Darren throws a head kick but Gariniho moves out of range.
Darren ducks under a wild hook from Gariniho.
Darren tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gariniho was well out of range. Poor timing from Darren.
Gariniho on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gariniho fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Darren looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gariniho tries to clinch up but Darren circles away and keeps his distance.
Gariniho misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Darren holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Neyman Gariniho will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gariniho lands a nice hook to Darren's body. Darren takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Darren thuds a left hand into Gariniho's body.
Gariniho uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Darren.
Darren takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gariniho throws a low kick but Darren avoids it.
Darren connects with the punch.
Gariniho scores with a jab to the head.
Gariniho walks into a left hand.
Gariniho misses with a hook. Darren ducked under it nicely.
Darren misses with a low kick.
Darren swats away the attempt to clinch by Gariniho.
Neyman Gariniho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gariniho misses with a wild body shot.
Gariniho throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Darren on the side of the head.
Gariniho lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Darren circles away quickly and effectively.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gariniho throws a combination. Darren tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gariniho is looking to wear down Darren with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Darren crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gariniho - the referee stops the clock and Darren gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gariniho. Darren manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Darren counters with a stiff right hand.
Darren swings widly with a right hand
and Gariniho counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gariniho's jab looks to have found its range, popping Darren under the eye.
Gariniho takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Gariniho is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gariniho lands a body shot.
Oh Gariniho is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gariniho gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Darren gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gariniho is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Darren!
A very excited looking James Darren made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
