Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deshawn Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aaron Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw has Fernandez up against the cage in a clinch.
Shaw misses with a hook from the clinch.
Fernandez wants to break free but Shaw has control.
Fernandez is looking to control Shaw's arms but Shaw gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fernandez has his back to the cage.
Shaw is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Fernandez breaks the clinch.
Fernandez shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fernandez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shaw counters with a single leg into guard. Fernandez didn't expect that.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fernandez tries to keep at a distance but Shaw has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shaw escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fernandez tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Fernandez is trying to remain composed but Shaw is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Shaw working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Fernandez is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Shaw has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Fernandez taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Deshawn Shaw!
After the fight, Deshawn Shaw was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
