Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between David Morrison (ranked 1966 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Jennings (ranked 3478 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison's entrance music is Diary of a Madman. A fine choice. David Morrison has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 11 losses; David Morrison! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 5 losses; Joe Jennings!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Morrison stuffs the takedown attempt from Jennings. Jennings gets slowly back to his feet.
Jennings fails with a takedown attempt.

Morrison changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jennings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Morrison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Morrison has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Jennings felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Morrison tries to control but Jennings wriggling away.
Jennings is desperately trying to improve his position but Morrison has a good base and remains in mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jennings prevents Morrison from taking his back.
Jennings is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrison trying to control but Jennings is having none of it.
Morrison controlling the pace for now.
Morrison can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jennings is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jennings really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Morrison moves to back control.

Morrison has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Jennings wants to escape the position.

Morrison working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Jennings trying to control the hands but Morrison won't let him.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jennings is really stuck here.
Morrison not allowing Jennings to control his hands.

You can see the frustration on Jennings's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Morrison is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Morrison controls the action.
Morrison has the hooks in. Jennings is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Morrison seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Morrison is not going to allow Jennings to sit and survive in this position.
Jennings is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Morrison is staying active.

Jennings staying busy and making it hard for Morrison to control.
I really don't envy Jennings right now.

Morrison sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Jennings taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Morrison!
A relieved looking David Morrison thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
