The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muller on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Muller jabbing away but nothing is landing. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Thompson! But no joy. Patrick Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thompson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Muller lands a nice looking kick to the body. Thompson takes a step back to recover. Thompson blocks the body kick.

It looks like Nicolas Muller has been cut. The crowd cheers as Thompson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Muller doesn't seem phased though. Muller looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson moves into the clinch. Thompson lands a right hand. Muller pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Thompson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Thompson pushes Muller back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Still in the clinch, Thompson scores with a nice short uppercut.
